'La Maison Ancienne' is a beautiful and fully restored 4 bedroomed gite set in the heart of the French countryside.

The house is one half of a 16th century Charentaise farmhouse, [we live in the other half], constructed from the stones of an 11th Century Abbey, which was destroyed in the Religious Wars of 1574. So staying here is not just a holiday - it is a step back into history.

The house is fully equipped inside and outside with a large patio, BBQ and garden furniture, a shady garden with trees, shrubs and roses, a private 12 x 6 meter swimming pool and a grassed area of just under one acre for games.

We are situated in the hamlet of Le Petit Cerzay which consists of about 12 houses, it is a very quiet farming community. The main attraction of this area is the peace and tranquillity it provides.
