Activities

This is a lovely area for walking, cycling and exploring. We are very close to the borders of two other departements - the Vienne and the Charentes - where there are numerous pretty little villages and towns, with lovely walks, chateaux and restaurants.

There are several good restaurants in the vicinity (although not within walking distance). There are markets every day of the week in the surrounding towns. Cognac, famous for its distilleries, is within an hour's drive.

For the days that you want to stay at Le Logis we provide croquet, boules, badminton and outside skittles. The pool is for your exclusive use in that there are no other gites here; however, we do enjoy the occasional swim ourselves, but will only do so when you are not using it. In accordance with French law, the pool is security fenced.

We can arrange horse-riding locally.

For Kids

  • Valley of the Apes in Romagne . See gorillas, chimpanzees, gibbons, lemurs and capuchins and a host of other primates in a natural setting.
  • Futuroscope in Poitiers. This futuristic theme park features over 20 hi-tech attractions and is unique in Europe.
  • Le Marais Poitevin near Niort a green labyrinth of waterways, host to a wealth of wildlife and fauna.
  • Giants of the Sky in Chauvigny. Admire 40 different species of birds, including condors, eagles and vultures in flying displays.
  • The Aquarium in La Rochelle. Features 10,000 specimens (including sharks).
